Suspending ArriveCan?

Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty; power is ever stealing from the many to the few. The manna of popular liberty must be gathered each day or it is rotten. The living sap of today outgrows the dead rind of yesterday. The hand entrusted with power becomes, either from human depravity or esprit de corps, the necessary enemy of the people. Only by continued oversight can the democrat in office be prevented from hardening into a despot; only by unintermitted agitation can a people be sufficiently awake to principle not to let liberty be smothered in material prosperity.” ~Wendell Phillips

After numerous planned leaks, the most despised app in Canada (in spite of tomfoolery on the Apple app store), seems certain to be made 'optional' next Friday. Why anyone would voluntarily hand over private medical information to a government bankrupting their futures remains a mystery outside the halls of Parliament.

We must recognize the many Canadians (including numerous Free to Fly supporters) who stood their ground at the border. These tenacious souls refused to concede to invasive, unprecedented, and illegal use of software to segregate Canadians and prohibit travelers' access to our nation. They faced sizable fines, intimidation, and ridicule at the hands of zealous state officials. Their courage, along with relentless domestic and international pushback, brought about the current pause. Your actions matter.

"Pause", "suspend".. we choose these words for a reason. The process and app remain in place. The information gleaned and now stored on government servers, the infrastructure ArriveCan enabled (at enormous cost to taxpayers), and the overreaching legislation behind it (the Order in Council and Quarantine Act) should be a grave concern to every Canadian. What "technological capacity" does ArriveCan hold and how is this to be used in the future for border control, as claimed by the Public Safety minister? Why did the Trudeau government continue to impose this app on Canadians, even at their growing political peril? Remember, this is the same government justifying the RCMP's use of spyware on Canadians.

Questions need to be asked, continually, by every Canadian. ArriveCan is but one attempt to control every aspect of Canadians' lives. We must be vigilant, and dig hard for the truth, as answers can no longer be taken at face value. Live courageously, as the free beings you are.
